Probiotics seem to be the latest buzzword when it comes to diet issues. They apparently cleanse the gut by introducing so called
'friendly bacteria'. According to the advertisements this helps to improve digestion and generally get everything moving. The
bacteria, we are told, help reduce yeast infections and restore the natural balance in our intestines. As a result, after
approximately 14 days, we should feel less bloated and constipated. So the question is, do they work?

Well strange as it may seem, apparently they do. Sales figures for some of the larger companies producing these goods have
risen dramatically over the past year suggesting satisfaction and general support by the public for the products. Perhaps the
manufacturers claims that these items can solve bloating issues in 9 out of 10 people are a little optimistic however, anything as
simple and natural as a yoghurt or yoghurt drink must be worth a try.

Bloating is a problem that affects many people. Some cases are mild and merely a temporary inconvenience, however for others
it can be extremely distressing. Questions can be found posted on numerous blogs begging for help by people of all ages. Many
solutions have been suggested to try and overcome this complaint ranging from charcoal and peppermint pills to exclusion diets
that eliminate certain foods and ingredients. At the end of the day it's a matter of choice, however supplementing the diet with a
tasty probiotic drink seems to be one of the more pleasant remedies to be recommended.

It's unlikely that the ultimate solution to extreme everyday bloating can be found in a simple pot of yoghurt but as part as a
general change in lifestyle it seems like a sensible, healthy addition in the battle to control this common problem.
